DCCT is a research team composed of professors of the telecommunications group of Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy (POLITO), professors from universities in the United States and researchers and graduate students of POLITO, with a passion for bringing to life the most advanced integrated systems and solutions that incorporate communications and other technologies. The team strives to benefit from cross-fertilization of several disciplines in Engineering to provide novel and innovative solutions to complex problems.
Our team is composed of senior scientists with years of experience in design and implementation of communication systems, highly skilled mid-level management personnel, and highly creative group of young Engineers. The members of DCCT have gained experience in the study of systems for digital and analog communications for both wireless and wireline environments, employing analytic and simulative approaches. In addition, the team has extensive experience and expertise in the field of signal analysis and processing.
Recently, the research activity of DCCT has been focused on the design and development of Software Radio reconfigurable transceivers for wireless (with emphasis on TTC and global positioning for Nano- and Micro-Satellites) and wireline (with emphasis for Power Line Channel or PLC) applications. Currently, members of DCCT are working in the field of distributed compression and coding for distributed networks. Currently, the team is engaged in R&D on a project funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop power and energy efficient distributed algorithms for synchronization and collaborative communications and beamforming in a Distributed Sensor Network (DSN) setting. |
